Paul D. Hart has worked in film and television lighting for more than twenty years, across commercials, music videos, independent features, episodic television and large-scale studio productions. His career began on compact Los Angeles crews, where the gaffer was expected to think practically, move quickly and help shape the image with limited resources, before expanding into senior lighting roles on projects for Marvel, HBO, Amazon, Sony, Starz, Netflix and A24.

His experience spans location surveys, source selection, power distribution, rigging, color control, wireless and networked lighting systems, and leading crews through technically demanding work under schedule pressure. His background in writing, directing, editing, and camera informs an approach to lighting built around story, performance, movement, continuity, and the final cut.
